Cast from hog bladders using alginate moulding and lost wax bronze casting.Sangradoiros explores the female body through the language of the visceral and the totemic. Cast from hog bladders using alginate moulding and lost wax bronze casting, the six bronze forms are heavy and deliberate - trophies of a kind, objects that hold the trace of something once living. Inspired by the recipe A Bexiga from Cozinha Tradicional Portuguesa, the work transforms a domestic archive into sculpture, proposing the kitchen as a site where nourishment and violence are inseparable.
